Travel Money for Graduate Students
The Dean's Office of the College of Arts & Letters offers graduate students funding to help defray travel and registration costs when presenting their research papers at conferences. Getting this money involves several steps and some paperwork (see below). Funding is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Each student may apply for funding from the College of Arts and Letters only one per year. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Deborah Giles.
Email form with the GPD's signature to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies (or the GPD can do this). You will be notified whether your travel reimbursement has been approved. (Funding is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.)
When making lodging reservations, be aware that Airbnb is not an approved vendor and so stays there cannot be reimbursed.
Keep boarding passes (if requesting reimbursement for airfare) and copies of all receipts. (Meal receipts are not needed.)
All receipts must show method of payment (e.g. cash, check, credit card with last four digits of the card). Make certain that your name is on the hotel receipt and that there is a zero balance on the hotel receipt.
Submit scanned copies of all receipts to Deborah Giles, administrative assistant to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies (dgiles@geosagrada.com). Meals will be reimbursed at the per diem rate for the location of the conference.
