Description
The Old Dominion University Jazz Combo under the direction of Professor John Toomey will perform several selections from the swing era through contemporary jazz. This group features numerous instrumentalists, as well as vocalist Kristiana Jones, and is not to be missed. The ODU Jazz Orchestra is featured in multiple concerts every semester, performing standard and contemporary big band originals and arrangements. Directed by Dr. Doug Owens with Guest Director Master of Music Education student Baxley Roberts, the 21 student members of the Jazz Orchestra present “The Music of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays,” including Here to Stay, And Then I Knew, Eighteen and other compositions.
